This policy describes how Choovy collects, uses, and protects information about you.
Choovy is an independent digital menu platform. We are not a registered business entity. References to "we", "us", or "Choovy" refer to Choovy as a service. For questions or requests, contact support@choovy.app.
We collect information you provide directly — including your email address, username, restaurant name, and menu content — when you create an account or use the service. We also collect usage data automatically, such as pages visited, time on page, device type, browser type, and IP address.
We use your information to provide and improve Choovy, process payments, send transactional emails (such as account verification and password reset), and display aggregated analytics about your own menus. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Menu files you upload are sent to AI processing tools to extract and structure your menu data. Uploaded files are stored temporarily during processing and then deleted. Extracted menu data is stored in our database and associated with your account. We do not use your menu content to train our internal models.
When diners scan your QR code and view your menu, we collect anonymous usage events: scan count, item views, language selected, and device type. This data is associated with your menu, not individual diners. We do not use cookies on public-facing menu pages.
We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Choovy: Supabase (database and authentication hosting), DodoPayments (payment processing — DodoPayments handles all transactions and card data), and Vercel (application hosting). Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data. DodoPayments collects and processes payment card information independently — we do not store card details.
We use essential cookies only — specifically session cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies. Public-facing menu pages use no cookies at all.
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and menu content are deleted within 30 days. Analytics data is retained in anonymized form.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@choovy.app. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit. All database connections use row-level security enforced by Supabase. Access to production systems is restricted.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of Choovy after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
